A Perfect Place for Cub Scout Camping! Just enjoyed a wonderful family campout with the Fallston Cub Scouts Pack 899. Camp Running Bear played a perfect host for all the scouting members and families who took part this weekend. The property is beautiful and perfect for hiking, scarecrow building and pumpkin pudding making, which were all activities the scouts participated in. The tree swings and rope course were a hit with the scouts and even some parents took a turn. The dining hall, the field for tent camping, the bath house facilities, the recreation area and fire pit were perfectly accomadating for the size group we had. Even with the number of tents we had in the field I managed to find a spot tucked under the trees on the edge of a babbling brook, which soothed me to sleep at night. Thank you so much Al Henneman for preserving the property for youth groups to continue to enjoy for years to come. Also a special thanks to Jeff Beavers for organizing the Pack 899 campout, to the folks who fed us lunch, dinner and breakfast and even the volunteers’ who worked the activity stations and kept things entertaining and running smoothly for all. I’m looking forward to more events at Camp Running Bear.
